Global Events

I'd like to propose the ability for the staff to set global events. These aren't quests, but more global parameter changes.

For example, since Wednesday nights are generally slow, someone on staff could have a command to temporarily DOUBLE soul gem drop rates for a set amount of time. Or we could make it so that weekends through the day XP is doubled for leveling alts, or gold drop increases, game wide.

In addition to this, if there was a mprog trigger setup for this, we could make it so that if players completed a potentially hard quest, they could enable some of these settings themselves through work.

Any thoughts - both on the system idea and for more variables that could be set?

Hey,

I like that idea a lot. Some other options:

Drop tokens instead of soulgems,
Prices in shops drop by X%,
Regen rates of PCs increase X%,

Some bad ones (for during big-bad-boss times):

AC X% less effective,
sv x% less effective,

Actually, I really like the idea of the debuffs for AC and Saves. With the programmable triggers (mprogs), they would work really well into a control point PK quest.


The tokens may be a bit much, given their relative value, but we could potentially do something for double drops.
