Gains, Leveling and You

HP Gains

HP Gains are based on a roll with the minimum and maximum values landing between your Min/Max HP gains (first list below), and adds in a CON modifier based on your current value (see second list below).

Min/Max hp gains before CON is applied:

Mage - 8/10
Cleric - 10/12
Monk - 12/15
Warrior - 14/16
Barbarian - 15/17
Psionicist - 9/12
Druid - 9/12
Ranger - 14/16
Rogue - 11/14
Bard - 10/13
WildMage - 8/11
Warlock - 10/13
Necro - 8/10
Templar - 14/16

CON Modifier Table:

0: -4
1: -3
2: -2
3: -2
4: -1
5: -1
6 - 0
Skip a Few (all 0)
14: 0
15: 1
16: 2
17: 2
18: 3
19: 3
20: 4
21: 4
22: 5
23: 6
24: 7
25: 8
26: 9
27: 10

MANA GAINS:

Mana gains are a little more complicated than HP gains, but not much.

If you are a mana reliant class (to be defined soon):
There is a dice roll with values between 10 and the following formula: (2*Int + Wis)/5

For Example, a character with 25 Int and 25 Wis would get roll between 10 and (2*25 + 25) / 5 = 15

If NOT a mana reliant class, do the above formula and divide the result of the dice roll by 2.

MOVES GAINS:

Nice and straight forward.

Make a dice roll between 1 and the following formula:

(Con + Dex) / 6

Practices

Solely based on your wis and the following chart:

0 - 4 wis: 0 pracs
5 - 14 wis: 1 prac
15 - 17 wis: 2 pracs
18 - 21 wis: 3 pracs
22 - 24 wis: 4 pracs
25 - 26 wis: 5 pracs
27 wis: 6 pracs
Yeah? Well, you know, that's just like, your OPINION, man.

Re: Gains, Leveling and You

To be determined:

1) What defines a 'mana reliant class'?

2) For the Mana gain formula, is it ((2*Int) + Wis)/5 or (2*(Int+Wis))/5?
Yeah? Well, you know, that's just like, your OPINION, man.

Re: Gains, Leveling and You

#1 Mana Reliant Classes: Casters + Blended - Rogue

#2 Pretty sure Wis only enters once due to it having an additional impact on practices per level.

Finally, gotta know how the game rounds numbers because all my calcs seem off by ~200 stats

Edit: just tested dwarf templar. Gains: 21/4 + 21/4 + 20/4 + 20/5 + 21/4
According to the formulas, I should have gotten between 23 - 25 HP and 5 - 6 (rounded down) mana...something's off.

From what I can tell, formula is off by 2-3 hp/1 mana for fighters and 1-2 hp/2-3 mana for casters.

Re: Gains, Leveling and You

I have some updated information, once I get it fully figured out I will repost HP gains as I get them. What's your CON on your templar Envenom?
Yeah? Well, you know, that's just like, your OPINION, man.

INT 21
WIS 25
CON 26

Here are some other tests I ran:
Lich Ranger: 18/6 + 18/5 + 17/4 + 18/5 + 18/5
Ava Mage: 11/9 + 11/9 + 11/11 + 11/9 + 9/10
Lich Druid: 15/12 + 14/9 + 13/10 + 13/12 + 14/13

Re: Gains, Leveling and You

Out of curiousity, how are you getting the values?
Hopefully you didn't run all classes through different constitution values.
Even if it's from the code, there must be some heavy rounding down on numbers that makes things harder.

Re: Gains, Leveling and You

The piece of the puzzle that was missing is that, after the gain is calculated it is then multiplied by 0.9. Not entirely sure *why*....but it is. Still do not know if it truncates or rounds after that.

Re: Gains, Leveling and You

Seems about right.

From the looks of it, rounding is always down...which means it is truncated?

[values already multiplied by 0.9]
Avariel Mage would have a minimum of: 7.2 + 2.7 = 9.9 (got min 9)
Dwarf Templar would get 20.7 (got min 20)
Lich Ranger 18.9 (got min 18)

just nerdy maths

I've been working with Kiirion who has been pulling stuff out of shell for me to turn into a presentable format for everyone else. I've been away / injured for a few days but have more to dig through in a bit, however Kiir's multiplier seems to have taken care of a good bit of the variance. I'll try and get a spreadsheet together when I get a little more time soon.
